MT4H Workshop at ECML-PKDD 2025
Porto, Portugal, 15 to 19 September 2025
The third edition of Machine Teaching for Humans (MT4H) Workshop will take place as part of the European Conference on Machine Learning and Principles and Practice of Knowledge Discovery in Databases (ECML PKDD 2025) in Porto, Portugal.
Due to few submissions, we move these submissions and all organization to the related ECML-workshop Interactive eXplainable AI – Theory and Practice (IXAIT 2025). We are sorry for any inconvenience this may pose.

MT4XAI Project Workshop
Caixa Forum, Palma de Mallorca, 9th to 11th of January 2025
The ‘Machine Teaching for Explainable AI’ (MT4XAI) Project Workshop took place at Caixa Forum in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, during the days of 9th to 11th of January 2025. The workshop featured talks from invited speakers, as well as other short presentations, and discussion sessions. Around 20 participants attended the workshop, including project members from UiB, VRAIN, Equinor and Eviny.

2nd MT4H International workshop
Universidad Politecnica de Valencia, 10th to 13th of January 2024
The second edition of the ‘Machine Teaching for Humans’ (MT4H) workshop took place at Universidad Politecnica de Valencia, during the days of 10th to 13th of January 2024. The workshop featured talks from invited speakers, as well as other short presentations, and discussion sessions. Around 30 participants attended the workshop, including project members from UiB, VRAIN, Equinor and Eviny.

MT4H International workshop
Universidade de Madeira, 11th to 15th of January 2023
The ‘Machine Teaching for Humans’ workshop featured talks from keynote speakers Jerry Zhu, Patrick Shafto, Ute Schmid, and other invited speakers. A panel discussion on MT4H was held. Around 30 participants attended the workshop, including project members from UiB, VRAIN, Equinor and Eviny.

Start-up meeting
Bergen, the 26th of April 2022
Start-up workshop with 17 participants from Eviny, Equinor, VRAIN and UiB. Presentations, discussions, and establishing the modus operandi of the collaboration.

“Machine Teaching for Explainable AI” is a joint project between the Department of Informatics at the University of Bergen, the Valencian Research Institute for AI (VRAIN) and industrial partners Equinor and Eviny. The project is financed by the Norwegian Research Council.
